Sanctuary Worship Circle

Baptist Church

Once again the Sanctuary Worship Circle will be leading our late evening gathering with musicians and singers from churches across North Devon. Whilst last year was a bit ‘high octane’ this year promises to be a bit more ‘unplugged’.

We would love you to come and be a part of this event; 90 minutes of free flowing worship and prayer, using some of the songs written in more recent years.

Doors open for refreshments from 7.15pm.

Sunday Morning Worship @ 10.30am

Baptist Church

If you are looking to take part in a worship service that has a family atmosphere and uses more modern hymns and songs, then this could be the place for you on Sunday morning. If you would like to know more about the church please click here to connect to the website.

St Mary’s Church

Whilst this Anglican church presents a more traditional worship service, this friendly congregation offers a very warm welcome to everyone who visits. During the festival all four churches in the local mission community will join together to enjoy a Sung Eucharist.

Dominic Carter

Dom Carter was born and raised in North Yorkshire. When he was 6 years old he began learning piano and two years later he took his first organ lesson in the local Parish Church. Aged 9 he became a chorister at Ripon Cathedral before winning a Music Scolarship to Uppingham School in Rutland. His busy professional life has included conducting orchestras and choirs in studios around the world including Abbey Road Studios and very recently he completed his Requiem Aeternam that will be performed at the festival. Dom is presently Director of Music at West Buckland School, Choir Master at Holy Trinity in Ilfracombe and conductor of the North Devon Sinfonia.

Events

These events be supported by a small choir and string ensemble drawn from a pool of people that Dominic works with on a regular basis.

Requiem Aeternam

St Mary’s Church

For many years Dominic Carter contemplated how to put together a number of his musical ideas with a christian theme and then, during 2024 he managed to bring them together in the form of a requeim. Whilst the work in full contains seventeen movements, within the festival there will only be as many as can fit into an hour. Sit and listen to the instruments and choir, but then, sing along with some well known words and tunes if you wish.

4pm Family Service
Sunday 17 May @ 4pm

Appledore Baptist Church

If you still have energy to spare you would be most welcome to join the regular 4pm family service held at ABC, a real bonus event. Why not join in singing some more contemporary worship songs, listen to a short message and then play some games while food is being served.
